M is for Murder

Somewhat late – it’s past midnight here – but here is the letter M! I wrote the ‘K is for Killer‘ poem a few days ago. This poem was from his perspective. I wanted to parallel this poem to that one by writing this one from her perspective. And I think it worked quite well ^^

I still need S, T and U, dear WordPress family! And you can also suggest topics for the rest of the alphabet if you have some great ideas. They will go into the mix and two of those topics will be picked for the last two days of February…

M is for Murder

When she first met him
He seemed like a nice guy
But there was something about him
That made her wonder why
Why did he choose her
Why not another girl
Wasn’t there anyone else
For him in this world
Nonetheless
They went on a date
And she started to feel
Like this had to be fate
He obviously cared
And he was really sweet
Seemed to genuinely love her
Took care of her every need
But the longer they were together
The more she knew
That she didn’t really
Think this one through
She didn’t know much about him
While he knew all about her
She got so scared
Was it too late to return
Then he got so defensive
Wouldn’t let her out of sight
Which only fuelled
Her ever-growing fright
She wanted to get out
She wanted to run
She wished this relationship
Had never begun
But it was far too late
Too late to run away
Without her knowledge
He had locked her in to stay
Though her fear kept growing
He wouldn’t let her go
She didn’t see it coming
That painful single blow
When she first met him
He seemed like a nice guy
But there was something about him
That made her wonder why
